Marshall County Co-op Begins

The Marshall County Co-op is a farmer's cooperative in Kentucky that was originally formed in 1946. In 1935, The Marshall County Co-op began as the Marshall County Soil Improvement Association, as part of a program between TVA and the University. 1946 the Co-op was officially formed to make farm supplies and inputs available locally and conveniently. 2009 the Co-op was expanded and remodeled to focus on lifestyle farms and rural living. Today, the Marshall County Co-op is one of the few remaining local farmer-owned Co-ops in the United States.
